I did some product photography this week for a guy here in Rochester, Minnesota, who handmade this amazing toy speedboat. I wanted to keep it simple and for the beautiful woodwork to stand out, so placed it against a black fabric background and lit it with one large octabox directly to my right. This thing is 5 feet long, so it was a little tricky getting the overhead shot, as my camera was almost to the ceiling!
