AGRICULTURAL PHOTOGRAPHY

As a commercial photographer in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Rochester and surrounding areas, agricultural photography has been a passion of Dean’s for many years, dating back to the early 1990s when he began working as an agricultural photographer for Agri News in his hometown of Rochester, Minnesota. Dean’s family has a farm just east of the Twin Cities, giving Dean a great appreciation and connection to the people, lifestyle, culture and work ethic of farmers. Subsequently, in 2004 Dean published a photography book titled “Life on the Farm; A Pictorial Journey of Minnesota’s Farmland and its People.”

Selections of Dean’s farming photography have been featured in exhibits around the state, including the Rochester Art Center and Bloomington Art Center. His farm life and agricultural photography has been featured nationwide in advertisements, brochures, annual reports, business plans and proposals, marketing brochures and a wide variety of publications. John Deere has even used some of Dean’s farm life photography on the walls of their manufacturing facility in Moline, Illinois.

Dean’s agricultural photography captures the simple pleasures and complexities that represent the daily lives of today’s farmers. With nature as a backdrop, Dean’s farm life photographs record the mysterious power that lures people to the land. His agricultural photography chronicles the men, women, children and animals who call the countryside home. From his photo book of farm life in Minnesota to his plethora of Midwest agricultural stock photography, Dean’s love of the land and the people who live there is evident.
