A recent architectural photography shoot of an all-new bio-manufacturing lab in the Two Discovery Square building right here in Rochester, Minnesota, shot for Flad out of Madison, Wisconsin. This shoot took a bit of planning as well as cooperation from both Mayo and the lab people. We weren’t able to capture any actual employees in the photography, so used a few people from Flad to step in and play the role, which is pretty common on an architectural shoot like this. And some of these labs we weren’t even able to step into, so had to ask employees to tidy things up, open blinds, move chairs, and so on. It all takes a team of people to get shots like this.
I’ve started shooting a lot of architecture the past few years as I’ve not only really grown to have an appreciation for it, but also love this type of work. It allows me to be creative, it’s challenging, it requires patience and I have some fantastic clients that have been very loyal for more than a decade. What’s not to like!?
