One of my favorite subjects is farm life – agricultural photography. I started photographing farmers back in the early 90s when I was a photojournalist for the Rochester Post-Bulletin and Agri News, both published here in my hometown of Rochester, Minnesota. I had no background in farming and hated having to go out and find something to shoot on local farms. It just didn’t interest me in the least. But later in life, after I had left the newspaper to pursue a freelance career, I started to love spending time on the farms documenting the people, the land and the animals on farms throughout the midwest. Then in 2001 I published a book of these images called, “Life on the Farm: A Pictorial Journey of Minnesota’s Farmland and it’s People.” And over the years I have built a clientele that hires me to shoot agriculture for their company websites and various other marketing materials and publications. I have also built a large stock library of farming-agricultural images from Minnesota. Here are just a few of those images.
