Last week I spent a couple of days on a commercial photography shoot northeast of St Paul and Minneapolis for Vulcan Industrial. Based out of Houston, Texas, Vulcan Industrial specializes in design and manufacturing in the oil, defense and aerospace industries. I always love industrial photography shoots and this one was no different. There are always cool things and interesting subjects to photograph at these manufacturing facilities, as you can see from the below photos. The main part they manufacture here are fluid ends for fracking machines, which is something I knew little about prior to this shoot. And I still don’t know a lot about them, other than that the process is pretty amazing, especially that the steel block they start with weighs more than 10,000 pounds!

This was a very high-paced shoot that had us running from one subject to another and from one location to another, and back again. Thankfully I had a very experienced assistant with me who handled all the lighting and gear. That always makes my life easier.

Well, enjoy the pics. And let me know if there’s a shoot I can help you with!
