Last week I was asked to get some nice exterior architectural images of The Hue, including the beautiful rooftop deck. This apartment building right in the heart of downtown Rochester, Minnesota, is such a cool place. I wish there had been places like this to live when I was younger and childless! I’d have loved to have lived here!
I started off this architectural photography shoot with some drone images of the building showing its proximity to downtown. I had to time it just right so the sun was low in the sky, but not so far northwest that the south side wasn’t lit. I then spent a couple of hours on the rooftop deck finding unique perspectives and waiting for just the right light. Now my plan is to go back at dusk and get some shots with the fire, string lights and city all lit-up against a deep blue sky!
