It was a beautiful evening, so I grabbed an Americano at Caribou and walked around down at Silver Lake with my cameras. I forgot how nice it is down there. I’ve only been a handful of times since my childhood when we’d frequently stop down to feed the geese. Rochester, Minnesota, has been home to thousands of Canada Geese for decades now, although the city has made some changes down at the lake to try and deter the animals from nesting and living in and around the lake. All those native flowers and grasses you see in these photos are part of that effort, which you have to admit look pretty cool. And as you can see, we do still have a few geese in the park. Just not the thousands we once had.
