Recently I was hired to do a commercial architectural photography shoot at Overland Elementary School in Northeast Rochester. This is a beautiful new school that was a collaboration between LHB Architects out of Minneapolis and Knutson Construction. This year it is serving as a temporary building for students from Harriet Bishop, which was recently torn down to make way for a new building that is under construction. It will be complete before next school year, in which case, the kids will head back to the new Harriett Bishop and students from various elementary schools in Rochester, that are overflowing, will begin attending Overland.
LHB architects organized this shoot and a couple of people from their firm were on site to help with everything. Unlike most of the architectural photography shoots I do, we did this one while classes were in session because they wanted to show it being used by students. This presented a few challenges, but overall everything went really well and I think we got some really nice images. Below are a few highlights.
