“Blue” rode his Harley from CA to DC for Memorial Day

I met 70-year-old, Vietnam vet, “Blue,” at Wall Drug in SD a few days ago while on vacation with my girls. He rode from California to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington DC with 1600 other bikers for Memorial Day. Now he’s just cruising around the country on his Harley. It’s now been four weeks and he said he has nothing on his calendar until November. Haha. He hasn’t cut his hair or beard in four years after getting a haircut and shaving for his sons wedding at the request of his new daughter-in-law. He was kind, polite and soft spoken. He’s been sober for almost 10 years and feels better than ever. Photographing people like this is my favorite thing to do. I love it!
