One of Dean's longtime specialties is documentary-style wedding photography. He combines his photojournalism skills with the more traditional approach to produce lasting photographs that tell a story and authentically reflect the day’s events and emotions. “My style is to capture the moments that tell the story of your wedding day, the indelible memory that you want to keep close forever, without becoming a part of that memory myself. The day is about you, your family and your friends, not a pushy photographer. I’m there to document what takes place, not to dictate what takes place.”

A former newspaper photojournalist, Dean has been doing documentary-style wedding photography since 1991 in the Rochester, Minnesota, area, as well as the Mankato, MN and LaCrosse, WI areas. Noted for his classic, yet contemporary-style images, his work has been featured in several premier wedding publications, including “Minnesota Bride” and “The Knot.”

Dean takes great pride in providing his clients with a distinctive collection of images from their wedding day. His sensitivity to your specific needs reflects his belief that photographing your wedding is an honor.

Dean’s standard package includes five hours of coverage beginning in the dressing room and continuing through the ceremony and receiving line and into the reception. Depending on your schedule of events, Dean is usually able to spend an hour at your reception documenting the setting, cake, your arrival and your guests. Your 10x13-inch proof album will consist of 384 images and is yours to keep. With Dean’s premium packages, your original digital files (1000-1300 images) are included on a DVD. A beautiful coffee table book comes with Dean's 7-hour package.
